In our first-ever How I Hamlet, we interviewed blogger -- and Hamlet customer! -- Liz Braga of All We Are Blog.

how would you describe your style & what do you love about decor?

I think my style is fairly transitional.  I’m not really stuck on one particular theme, but overall I like clean and modern, midcentury, a bit eclectic, and a term I’ve been using recently that is farmhouse glam. It's a real hodge-podge- I love mixing vintage items, or items we’ve picked up on travels, with more budget friendly mainstream items. I adore home décor for the same reason I love fashion, the way you decorate your home is a true reflection of your personal style.

Where did you first start your search for product?

Since I’m a working mom, I really don’t have much time to shop in-stores. Sometimes, we’ll make a trip to Homegoods or Ikea on the weekend, or I’ll run to Target on my lunch hour, but for the most part I’m shopping online. My favorite stores are West Elm, CB2, Target, Ikea, AllModern and Overstock. Once I’ve exhausted all of those resources I’m basically stuck and that’s why it was so great to find Hamlet!

Did you know what type of look you were going for before you started chatting with Hamlet?

I did! We’re undergoing a complete home renovation and I’ve been overwhelmed with so many decisions. But, I had a vision for our dining room pretty early on. We already had our reclaimed wood table and chairs from our previous home and wanted the room to feel more glam since it was going to be used for more formal occasions. We used Benjamin Moore Gentleman’s Gray on the walls- which I love.  I had seen a few examples of brass and pink against the navy and loved it so the palette came together quickly.

What was your favorite part of your Hamlet experience?

Since I had already been searching for a chandelier for our dining room I truthfully didn’t have a ton of confidence that Hamlet would find something I hadn’t already looked at, especially within my budget. The fact that they nailed it on the first try was surprising but the response time and fact that it was within my budget and dare I say reasonable was definitely the icing on the cake. My stylist also gave me a few examples of the light used in different spaces and gave me a few other options to choose from (I really like options, even if I usually end up choosing the first thing I saw).

To me, Hamlet feels easy and effortless and even after just one interaction I already trust them. I find myself texting Hamlet way more often than I would have imagined.

It’s nice to have someone give you a second opinion and reassurance that you’re picking the right piece. I know my husband is grateful that I have found someone new to ask all of my questions!
